Our Political Strategy to Stop the Auxiliary Lanes
If we prevail in our lawsuit against Caltrans, the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) will need to reconsider its strategy of building auxiliary lanes in the vain hope that it will reduce congestion on Hwy 1. We need to lay the groundwork for that political day-of-reckoning by making this an issue that the County Superviors (who sit on the RTC) cannot ignore. This election season is a particularly good time to get the attention of supervisor candidates, especially those running to represent Aptos.
